Over the past years, God has given me the opportunity to travel to different churches around the world and share about what God is doing in Israel. One of the things that I find encourages believers is the reality of both Jew and Arab believers walking in unity in the land of Israel. If we only receive news from the media, then it is likely that we are only viewing the growing darkness and conflict that is rising. And while this is true, when we turn to scriptures we see another side to the story. In the book of Isaiah, the prophet writes.
“Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth, And deep darkness the peoples; But the Lord will rise upon you, And His glory will appear upon you.” Isaiah 60:1-2
In this passage, God does not ignore the growing darkness, but rather calls his covenant people to rise and shine in the midst of it! His promise is that His glory will appear on us right in the midst of the darkness and turmoil.
In another passage in Isaiah, God makes another astonishing prophetic declaration:
“In that day Israel will be the third party with Egypt and Assyria (Arab world), a blessing in the midst of the earth, whom the Lord has blessed, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel My inheritance.” Isaiah 19:24-25
Here in Israel, where the conflict is so present and tangible, we find it is necessary to focus on the Glory that is beginning to appear rather than the darkness. We are seeing this incredible reality taking shape before our very eyes. Just last week, I joined more than 33 Israeli pastors and leaders, both Jewish and Arab, to pray and worship together in the Negev desert. We call this event S.A.Y.F. (Sitting at Yeshua’s Feet). There are no teachings or agendas at this yearly meeting but only the simple goal of coming together to worship, pray, and seek the Lord in unity.
The last night was the highlight of the gathering. We partook of the Lord’s Supper together, proclaiming our unity in the Lord.
“Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in Unity!” Psalm 133
It is amazing to experience the encouragement of Yeshua through His Holy Spirit when brethren gather together. My prayer is that you would experience the same hope and encouragement today as you read this. Friends, we are living in prophetic times. We see the Lord bringing us together in unity, firstfruits of his prophetic plan to bring forth the “one new man” and bride of Messiah. Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support.
