Standing at the window of the 12th floor VIP Prayer Tower one could see for miles. The sight can sometimes be overwhelming as you view the high-rise apartments and closely clustered office buildings surrounding the city. You might ask yourself why the need for a prayer tower and why so high? We believe that the prayer tower is a prophetic statement as we see throughout scripture as a place set aside to meet with God.
As we look at various scenes in the Bible, we can see that “high places” were often set-aside as a place for sacrifice and encounter with God. One instance of this is found in Genesis 22:1-2 when God asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son Isaac.
“Sometime later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”
In Exodus 19:3 we see God meeting with Moses on Mount Sinai.
“Then Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain…”
It is also important to know that in 2 Chronicles 3:1 we see that the Temple itself was built on a high place.
“Then Solomon began to build the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to his father David. It was on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, the place provided by David.”
In addition to the local believers from Israel that come to join us in prayer we also continually invite groups of believers from the nations to come and play a part of what God is doing in Tel Aviv through the agency of prayer.
As tour groups come from overseas usually they arrive in Tel Aviv and then travel straight to Jerusalem without thinking about the city with the largest Jewish population in the world. If you count Tel Aviv and the surrounding areas there are over 3 million Jews living here. What a mission field! What a place to make a difference and win souls over to the Kingdom of our God.
More and more believers from around the world are understanding this call and are making a point to stop and take a moment out of their busy tour schedules to come and visit this special place of prayer in Tel Aviv.
As we meet with them we are able to explain the vision of Dugit and how we see God working in these times here in our city. Then we can show them from the view the different prayer points throughout the city and why these points are important and most importantly how they should pray.
And then we pray! Together Jew and Gentile, native-born Israelis and saints from all nations join together in one accord. We cry out for the salvation of the nation of Israel and the city of Tel Aviv.
We believe that we are making a great impact in the spiritual realm. Slowly but surely God is responding to our prayers as we see signs of the will of God being done on earth!
“May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10
We humbly ask that you would continue to stand with us as we wage war against the present darkness. Please pray that we will continue to be victorious over the ways of the evil one and that the prayer that is raised up to heaven from the prayer tower will continue to make a difference in the land of Israel.
Also, we would like to see more local Israeli believers using the prayer tower and are making a real effort to reach out and have groups come and pray and worship throughout the week. It is our vision that it would become a place of 24-hour praise and worship!
And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?” Luke 18:7
It would be amazing if we could then live stream from the prayer tower to all the nations of the world so that we could pray together for the nation of Israel.
Please pray that God would help us to make the right connections with believers, congregations and ministries throughout our area. Pray they would heed the call to prayer and become a part of what God is doing here in the city of Tel Aviv.
Please pray that God would continue to provide the finances to rent the prayer tower and the purchase of the live stream equipment.
Again, we thank you for all your prayer and support and know that together we are making a difference in the city of Tel Aviv.
